    Sorry, I maybe should have gone over this. When you choose the pen tool, in the main toolbar you can either select shape layers or paths. You must have had shape layers selected which will create a new shape layer then fill the pixels with the foreground color. So just change to paths and all will be fine. This can happen with other tools like the shapes as well. Thanks for pointing it out.

    hello! you just answered me on yahoo! how funny you found that. Thanks for answering - and I have figured that out but I am just having 1 more problem!

    When you say stroke with a brush.. can you explain that a little better? I went to stroke but it says it has nothing to stroke, i tried to draw over it with a brush but my hand isn't that steady..

    Hi again,

    Okay in step 11 we set our brush, then we select the pen tool and draw our path. Once the path looks like the one in the image, keeping the pen tool selected, right click anywhere in the document and select stroke path. A new dialog box should pop up, in the dropdown menu here select brush and make sure there is a tick next to simulate pressure. Hope it works for you.
